Welcome to the Beyond Indigo Help Desk

Using Webmail, your Web-based email account

If you host your email with Beyond Indigo, we provide access to a Webmail account for each email address that you create with us.

Webmail are web-based email accounts. These are free email accounts that are operated from a website. Other examples that you may know of include Hotmail, GMail and Yahoo Mail.

Webmail allows the users to access their emails as long as they have access to an Internet connection and a web browser. This also means that the user cannot read an old email or draft a new email offline.

To access your email via Webmail all you need to do is enter this URL into your browser:

http://webmail.[yourdomainname]
and then you will need to enter your:
username: [your full email address]
password: [your email password]

For instance, if I wanted to check my Beyond Indigo email using Webmail, I would enter:

http://webmail.beyondindigo.com/
and then
username: noelle@beyondindigo.com
password [my email password]

Once you login to Webmail, you can then pick which email reader interface you would like to use.  We give you three choices:

Horde

Horde is an easy to use email interface.

Roundcube

Squirrelmail

SquirrelMail is a standards-based webmail package written in PHP. SquirrelMail has all the functionality you would want from an email client, including strong MIME support, address books, and folder manipulation.

I personally like Squirrelmail the best, but it's whatever the user is used to.  Pick one and stick to it and you'll learn all of the features in no time.  The handy user guides that are linked above should be able to help you with any issues you may have.  If not, please let us know here on the Help Desk!
